York County Woman Selected as Caseworker of the Month

Aug. 27, 2019 – The South Carolina Department of Social Services (SC DSS) would like to congratulate Zanaiya Lytle for being selected as the South Carolina Foster Parent Association’s Caseworker of the Month for August.

“I never expected to receive such a title because I do not do my job for recognition, but simply because I love my job helping others,” she said.

Lytle has been with the York County DSS office for almost two years now. She started in investigations and transferred to Foster Home Licensing about a year ago.

“The most rewarding thing about my job is seeing the children in a happy and safe environment with my foster families,” she said. “I enjoy doing everything possible to make my foster parents’ job rewarding and easy. Without them, our children would not have safe and loving homes to go to.”

Her nomination on the Foster Parent Association website states: “Zanaiya is always so kind and helpful each time we talk. She is always more than willing to answer questions I have and makes herself available for me to contact her. I can tell she loves her job because even in the small things, Zanaiya shows commitment and joy.

“She truly leads by example and has a huge heart for children. I am thankful for her advice and encouragement throughout our fostering journey. It definitely makes a difference when you feel supported. Zanaiya loves her foster families, and we love her!”
