Kinship Care Means Keeping Family Connections
...So children are safer, happier and with lifelong families sooner.
What is Kinship Care?
When parents can’t meet a child’s basic needs, relatives or family friends often step in to care for the child. This is kinship care, and it can be temporary or permanent.
Our goal is to help kinship caregivers meet children’s needs, so children benefit from the stability kinship care offers them.
Visit Kinship SC, a collaboration between HALOS and SC Department of Social Services, serving kinship care families across South Carolina by providing information and resources and services for caregivers and the children they are raising.
Kinship care can make a child’s life brighter and ease the trauma of being separated from parents.
