Lutheran Services Carolinas
Lutheran Services Carolinas welcomes individuals and families from all walks of life interested in becoming foster parents. We work with prospective foster families across all of South Carolina, regardless of sexual orientation or marital status, and guide them through the licensure process for traditional, therapeutic, intensive, and medically fragile foster care.
We’re committed to walking alongside both children and foster families every step of the way. Our trained staff provide 24/7 support and are always ready to offer guidance, whether addressing day-to-day challenges or connecting families with additional community resources.
Each foster family receives at least one face-to-face visit per month. For children with higher needs, we increase that support with more frequent in-person check-ins and weekly phone calls. We also host regular support groups, giving foster parents the chance to connect, share experiences, and learn from one another. Ongoing training, peer mentorship, and a monthly stipend help ensure families are equipped and empowered to meet the needs of the youth in their care.
