Work Programs

The SCDSS Employment Services Division continues to help thousands of South Carolinians find employment, so they can support themselves and their families without having to rely on government assistance.

Each year DSS helps find jobs for thousands of south Carolina’s welfare recipients, namely those who participate in Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).  Research shows that children are more likely to escape a life of poverty if their parents enter the workforce.

DSS is committed to continuing this positive trend of not just helping people find employment quickly, but of helping people develop the skills necessary to better position them for careers in fields where jobs are available and in demand here in South Carolina.

The Division of Employment Services is responsible for developing and implementing employment-related programs and initiatives for public assistance recipients and other low-income residents across South Carolina.

If you are a recipient of either SNAP or TANF benefits and you are in need of assistance with finding employment, please complete the following form:

(Numbers Only)

When you click submit, your information will be sent to a secure email address within the Employment Services unit. Upon receipt, a representative will then contact you to establish a plan to assist you with your employment needs.
