Perks, Special Discounts to SC Attractions Available to SNAP Recipients

June 19, 2023 – Summertime is here and South Carolina families who receive SNAP benefits can enjoy some of the state’s best-known museums and attractions through a new program the South Carolina Department of Social Services calls EBT Perks.

Whether it’s play-based learning at a children’s museum, a fun-filled day at the zoo or a trip down memory lane exploring Charleston’s colonial history, SNAP household members can get free or discounted admission to a variety of venues and attractions by simply presenting their EBT card.

“We are so grateful to all the organizations who are demonstrating support for the families we serve by generously providing discounts and incentives for some truly awesome educational and recreational experiences. We look forward to adding many more EBT Perks partners to the list!” said, Ereka Jamison, Food and Nutrition Program Manager for DSS.

Current EBT Perks partners include:

The Charleston Museum

The Columbia Museum of Arts

Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum

Sigal Music Museum

The Powder Magazine - American Revolution Museum

The Children's Museum of the Upstate

Riverbanks Zoo & Garden - Columbia, SC

The South Carolina Aquarium- Charleston, SC

Families are encouraged to check DSS’ EBT Perks webpage often, as new partners are continually added.
