Notice of Abandonment - Greenville

June 28, 2018 - Greenville County Department of Social Services officials report that an infant was born June 24, 2018, and placed under the protection of Safe Haven with medical professionals at Greenville Memorial Hospital on June 26, 2018. Upon the information and belief of the agency, the child falls under the jurisdiction for “Daniel’s Law,” the Safe Haven for Abandoned Babies Act.

Baby Doe is a white female weighing 5 pounds and 13 ounces and was 19 inches in length at birth. The child is now in DSS custody.

Under the Safe Haven Act, a permanency planning hearing is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018, at the Greenville County Family Court, 301 University Ridge, Greenville, SC 29601. Any person wishing to assert parental rights regarding the infant must do so at this hearing.
