Infant Safely Surrendered in Anderson County Under Safe Haven Act
April 3, 2026- Officials at AnMed Medical Center in Anderson County recently accepted an infant safely surrendered under Daniel’s Law, the state’s Safe Haven for Abandoned Babies Act, on Monday, March 30, 2026.
The white baby boy was born on March 30, 2026 at the hospital and weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces and was 20.88 inches long at the time of birth.
The infant was safely surrendered at the AnMed Medical Center in Anderson County. Under the Safe Haven for Abandoned Babies Act, Anderson County DSS took custody of the child, a medical evaluation was completed, and the infant has been placed in a licensed foster home.
A Permanency Planning Hearing and Termination of Parental Rights Hearing will be held on May 14, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at the Anderson County Family Court, located at 100 S Main St #3, Anderson, SC 29624. Persons who believe they have parental rights to this child are required to attend the hearing to assert those rights.
