DSS Charges Two Individuals in Beaufort County with Food Stamp Fraud
April 21, 2025- On March 31st, 2025, Special Agents with the South Carolina Department of Social Services, Office of Inspector General, arrested a Beaufort County man and woman in connection with fraudulently receiving $20,369.00 in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.
Dennis Lee Phillips Jr., 42 and Jennifer Nichole Phillips, 44, were each charged with one (1) count Fraudulent Acquisition or Use of Food Stamps, greater than $10,000. Both individuals were booked at the Beaufort County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 14th Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office. The related warrant can be found here.
