DSS Charges Three Individuals with SNAP Fraud in Unrelated Cases

April 30, 2025- Special Agents with the South Carolina Department of Social Services, Office of Inspector General, arrested three individuals in unrelated cases over the past several weeks with fraudulently receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.

The unrelated arrests are as follows:

·      Shareita Johnson aka Shareita Jenkins, 38, of Sumter County, was charged with (1) count of Fraudulent Acquisition or Use of Food Stamps Greater than $10,000, receiving $48,007.00 in benefits. Johnson was booked at the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center in Sumter SC. The case will be prosecuted by the 3rd Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office. The related warrant can be found here.

·      Jessica Shanay Snider, 35, of Orangeburg County, was charged with one (1) count of Fraudulent Acquisition or Use of Food Stamps, greater than $10,000, receiving $25,115.00 in benefits. Snider was booked into the Orangeburg County Detention Center. The case will be prosecuted by the First Circuit Solicitor’s Office. The related warrant can be found here.

·     Tabatha Brook Wyndham, 33, of Berkeley County, was charged with one (1) count Fraudulent Acquisition or Use of Food Stamps, greater than $10,000, receiving $34,419.00 in benefits. Wyndham was booked into the Berkeley County Detention Center. The case will be prosecuted by the Ninth Circuit Solicitor’s Office. The related warrant can be found here
