DSS Announces New Hampton County Director

April 16, 2025 - Columbia, S.C. – The South Carolina Department of Social Services would like to announce Angie Bryan as the new Hampton County Director. She began her new position on Monday, March 17th.

Ms. Bryan began her career with SCDSS in 1999 in Allendale County working in Family Preservation. She transferred to Colleton County in 2001 and continued working in Family Preservation and Investigations until becoming a supervisor in 2008.  As a supervisor, she served over Investigations, Family Preservation, Foster Care, and Adult Protective Services until becoming team coordinator in 2018.

 

“I look forward to the commitment of enhancing the quality of life for residents and professional growth of DSS staff as we head into the future of Hampton County,” said Ms. Bryan. “I am fortunate to have had leaders who encouraged my professional growth and continue to support me in my new role”. 

 

Ms. Bryan is a native of Walterboro, SC. She graduated from the University of South Carolina Salkehatchie with an associate degree in science and with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Carolina.
