DSNAP Relief for Specific Counties Impacted by Hurricane Helene

The South Carolina Department of Social Services (DSS) has announced counties eligible to receive Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (DSNAP) Assistance under the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act. Administration of the program will happen in two phases for the 28 eligible counties.

Those who were unable to pre-register and complete a telephone interview between November 12th and November 21st may apply in-person at the three (3) day event. Individuals can only apply for DSNAP at the designated location in their county of residence.

Prospective Foster Parent

Foster care is a temporary home when children and youth cannot safely remain in their homes due to neglect and abuse. The agency’s greatest need for foster parents are those willing to care for teenagers. To learn how you can become a foster parent, click here

Permanency Options: KinGAP

Kinship guardianship can be a permanency option for a child or youth in kinship foster care when reunification with the child’s parents or permanency through adoption is not feasible. To learn more about permanency options, click here

Child Only TANF

If you are caring for a relative other than your child who is under the age of 18, you may qualify for federal TANF cash assistance on behalf of the child to help meet their basic needs. Learn more and apply here

Eligible seniors must redeem their vouchers for fresh produce from participating farmers/farmers’ markets no later than November 15th. Farmers new date for deposits is on or before December 2nd.
