Notice of Abandonment - Greenwood July 2017

GREENWOOD, SC -- Greenwood County Department of Social Services officials report that an infant was born on July 13, 2017, in Self Regional Hospital Greenwood County. The baby was abandoned and left in the care of medical professionals at the hospital on July 14, 2017. Upon the information and belief of the agency, the child falls under the jurisdiction for “Daniel’s Law,” the Safe Haven for Abandoned Babies Act.

Baby Doe, born July 13, 2017, is a Caucasian male that weighed about 5 pounds and 10 ounces and was 19.5 inches in length at birth. The infant is now in DSS custody.

A permanency planning hearing will be held at 1:30 p.m. on September 11, 2017, at the Greenwood County Courthouse, Family Court Room, 528 Monument St., Greenwood, SC 29646.

Any person wishing to assert parental rights regarding the infant must do so at this hearing.
