Notice of Abandonment - Georgetown

October 4, 2018 – Georgetown County Department of Social Services officials report that an infant was born August 22, 2018, and placed under the protection of Safe Haven with medical professionals at Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital on August 22,
2018. Upon the information and belief of the agency, the child falls under the jurisdiction for “Daniel’s Law,” the Safe Haven for Abandoned Babies Act.

Baby Doe is a white female weighing 6 pounds and 4 ounces and is 19.5 inches long. The child is now in DSS custody.

Under the Safe Haven Act, a permanency planning hearing is now scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018, at Georgetown County Family Court, 401 Cleland St., Georgetown, SC 29440. The previous one was cancelled because of Hurricane Florence.

Any person wishing to assert parental rights regarding the infant must do so at this
hearing.
