Notice of Abandonment Florence

Notice of Abandonment May 8, 2019 

Florence County Department of Social Services officials report that an infant was surrendered and placed under the protection of medical professionals at McLeod Regional Medical Center on May 4, 2019. Upon the information and belief of the agency, the child falls under the jurisdiction for “Daniel’s Law,” the Safe Haven for Abandoned Babies Act. Born on May 2, 2019, the baby is a black female weighing 6 pounds, 12 ounces, and was 19 1/2 inches in length at birth. The infant is now in DSS custody. Under the Safe Haven Act, a permanency planning hearing will be held at 10:30 a.m. June 11, 2019, at the Florence County Family Court, City-County Complex, 181 N. Irby St., Florence, SC 29501.
