DSS Names New Greenville County Director

July 26, 2016 – Officials with South Carolina Department of Social Services (SCDSS) recently named Dena Reeves-Green as the Director of Greenville County DSS

Ms. Reeves-Green has worked for the State of South Carolina for the last 27 years and began her career with SCDSS in 1996 as a Children’s Service Coordinator with the Intensive Foster Care and Clinical Services division. She continued in that role until she was promoted in 2007 as the Pickens County DSS Human Services Program Coordinator and remained in that position for four years before coming to Greenville County DSS in 2011.

In 2011, Ms. Reeves-Green was named the Director of Human Services for Greenville County DSS and was promoted to Deputy Director of Greenville County DSS in 2015. In March of 2016, Ms. Reeves-Green was named as the Interim County Director for Greenville County and has continued to serve in that role until her promotion to County Director on July 18, 2016.

Ms. Reeves-Green graduated from the University of South Carolina (December 1998) with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. Ms. Reeves-Green works closely with Greenville County community partners and providers and serves on the local child fatality review committee with the Greenville County Coroner’s office and the Greenville County Hospital System.
