DSS Announces New Saluda County Director

March 24, 2026 - The South Carolina Department of Social Services is pleased to announce Niesha Bush as the new Saluda County Director. She began her position on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.

Ms. Bush began her career with the South Carolina Department of Social Services in 2018 in Aiken County, where she served as an investigations case manager. In 2022, Ms. Bush was promoted to supervisor in Saluda County, overseeing investigations, family preservation, and foster care services.

“I am committed to public service and collaborative community engagement,” said Ms. Bush. “I am called to serve God by serving others, walking in compassion, and allowing His light to shine on every life I touch.  I am passionate about supporting and uplifting children and families.”

Ms. Bush graduated from Strom Thurmond High School in 2011. She later earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in Health Care Management from Lander University. She is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work degree at Winthrop University, with anticipated graduation in Spring 2027.
