Deadline Approaching to Redeem Vouchers for Senior Farmers’ Market Program 

September 17, 2026 – The deadline to redeem vouchers for the 2026 Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) is quickly approaching. Participants who received vouchers for the 2026 season have until October 15th to redeem the vouchers. Approved participants received $50 in vouchers or checks earlier in the summer months of 2026, distributed as five vouchers valued at $10 each, to be spent at approved locations.

DSS is encouraging SFMNP recipients to redeem their participant vouchers before the deadline, as South Carolina’s 2027 federal funding amount for this program will be based on the previous year’s voucher redemption rates. Vouchers that are not redeemed by the 2026 deadline will be null and void as they do not retain value or carry over from year to year.

“The Senior Farmers’ Market Program is one of our agency’s most popular annual programs. Senior citizens across our state look forward to it each year as a way to add fresh fruits and vegetables to their diets while benefiting our state’s farmers,” said DSS State Director Tony Catone. “The annual demand and community interest for this program is very high, and we depend on the community to help our state’s citizens and farmers by using their vouchers as soon as possible so that our state can maximize this federal funding source for the next round of the program slated to occur in June 2027.”

The program provides qualifying individuals with vouchers that may be used to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at local authorized farmers’ markets. For a listing of authorized and participating farmers, markets, and roadside stands by county, please click here.

SFMNP is available statewide this year thanks in part to SCDSS’ commitment to community partnerships and collaboration with senior serving organizations and non-profits throughout the state. SCDSS partners with the Coastal Carolina National Bank (CCNB), to process the payments for the program. SCDSS appreciates CCNB for their support and partnership in helping to serve participating senior citizens, families and South Carolina farmers and road stand markets.
