Notice of Abandonment - Charleston

August 28, 2018 – Charleston County Department of Social Services officials report that an infant was born August 25, 2018, abandoned at Trident Medical Center and placed under the protection of Safe Haven with medical professionals on August 25,
2018. Upon the information and belief of the agency, the child falls under the jurisdiction for “Daniel’s Law,” the Safe Haven for Abandoned Babies Act.

The infant is a black male weighing 7 pounds and 6 ounces and was 21 inches in length at birth. The infant is now in DSS custody.
Under the Safe Haven Act, a permanency planning hearing will be held at the Charleston County Family Court, 100 Broad Street, Charleston, SC 29403 on October 25, 2018 at 9:00 AM.

Any person wishing to assert parental rights regarding the infant must do so at this hearing.
