Notice of Abandonment - Charleston

February 8, 2018 –South Carolina Department of Social Services’ Charleston County staff report that an infant was born December 6, 2017, and placed under the protection of Safe Haven with medical professionals at Trident Medical Center on the same day. Upon
the information and belief of the agency, the child falls under the jurisdiction for “Daniel’s Law,” the Safe Haven for Abandoned Babies Act.

Baby Doe is a white female weighing 7 pounds and 4 ounces and was 19 ¾ inches in length at birth. The infant is now in DSS custody.

Under the Safe Haven Act, a permanency planning hearing is rescheduled for at 11 a.m. on April 19, 2018, at the Charleston County Family Court, 100 Broad Street, Charleston, SC 29403.

Any person wishing to assert parental rights regarding the infant must do so at this hearing.
