Public Notice: TANF

The Department of Social Services does hereby give notice that the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families’ (TANF) caseload reduction credit estimates and methodology, which are used to adjust the state’s work participation goals under TANF, are available for public review and comment through December 31, 2010. This public comment period complies with the provisions of Public Law 104-193, Section 407(b)(3)(A), dated August 22, 1996, as amended by the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005.

Interested persons may request copies of the estimates and methodology by contacting the South Carolina Department of Social Services, Division of Planning and Quality Assurance, PO Box 1520, Columbia, SC 29202-1520, telephone 803-898-7784. Comments must be in writing and must be received no later than 5:00 p.m., December 31, 2010; they should be addressed to: Ms. Amber Gillum, Executive Director, Accountability, Data and Research, South Carolina Department of Social Services, PO Box 1520, Columbia, SC 29202-1520.
